What
products do you use to develop Web sites?
For Web coding we use
HTML, ASP, PHP or Java.
Web publishing, we use
Macromedia Dreamweaver, and FrontPage (for those that
request it).
Web graphics, we use
Macromedia Fireworks, Jasc's Paint Shop Pro and Adobe
Photoshop. All three of these provide clear, compressed
graphics that load fast on your website. Some other
products that we use are Adobe Illustrator and
Macromedia Flash.

How much
will it cost?
No Hiding of prices, No

How long
will it take?
Once the design process
begins it generally takes 2 - 6 weeks from start to
finish. This is based on all your text being written
before the design is started. ALL Copy should be in
electronic format, preferably MS Word format. If the
copy is not completed before the design process it can significantly
delay the production of your site.

Who owns
the completed Web site?
Once the final payment is
received, you will receive 100% ownership of your Web
site.

What is
a domain name and why do I need one?
A domain name is your Web
site's unique address on the Internet. Every Web site
must have a domain name.
As an example, the domain
name for Evans Web Designs is http://www.evanswebdesigns.com.
The most common domain names will end in .com, .net, or
.org, but there are many others to choose from.
Although you are free to
use any domain registrant you choose, Evans Web Designs
suggest using hostmysite.com. When you register for a
year with there hosting you normally receive the domain
name included in the packet. See next section on
Hosting.

What is
hosting and why do I need it?
Your Web site needs a
place to reside on the Internet - a place for all your
domain name, Web page files and graphics to point to.
You buy or rent 'space' through a hosting company. Most
hosting companies offer monthly, quarterly, and yearly
packages.
Hosting fees vary greatly
depending on your needs. Your hosting package will need
special features if you plan to have a storefront on
your Web site, if you will be connected to a database,
or if you have special programming requirements.
We suggest using
hostmysite.com to host your site based on their
outstanding performance in the past. However please note

will I be working with?
Who you will work with
depends on what your needs are. Web design and logo

Can I
make changes after I approve the draft?
Yes, however design
changes performed after you
have approved the draft will be charged at the current
hourly rate. See the rates page

Once
the site is complete, can I make changes and updates to
it myself?
Yes, but you will need to
invest in Web publishing software and you will need to
learn how to use it.
You will also need to learn how to transfer files to and
from the Web normally with an FTP program.
We will substitute 1 hour
of BASIC training for updates/uploading your site, in
place of the current 2 hours of updates we would
provide, during the month following your site
completion.
Please note that all
phone call related problems/questions will be charged at
a real-time rate based on the current update rates.

What is
your payment policy and what type of payments do you
accept?
We receive 50% of your
estimated total as a deposit prior to beginning work.
The final payment is due immediately upon completion of
the project.
Please note that if the
final payment is not received within 1 week of the
project finalization we reserve the right to 'freeze'
the site until payment is made.
