Car Seat Safety - NEW LAW
All children under 8 years old must be in child safety seats unless they are 
4'9" AND
65 pounds.

Effective June 30, 2008

 

Health Policy


RE-ADMISSION AFTER ILLNESS

1. If your child shows any signs of illness, SO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO DAYCARE! We are not equipped to handle sick or injured children at the daycare.
2. If your child does arrive ill, I will notify you immediately
3. You are “required” to advise us of any health problems, which may exist with your child via telephone/note.
4. After (3) Three days absence, a note is “required” to return to daycare.

NOTE: Please review the following pages stating whether a Doctor’s note is needed for specified illness before returning to Daycare.


CHICKEN POX – 
Pimples, blisters and crust in different stages. NO DAYCARE UNLESS LESIONS ARE COMPLETELY SCABBED OVER.

GERMAN MEASLES (RUBELLA) - 
Mild rash with enlarged glands on back and neck. NO DAYCARE UNTIL 5 DAYS AFTER START OF RASH

MEASLES (RUBELLA) - 
cough, runny eyes and nose, high fever and extensive rash occurring first on the face. NO DAYCARE UNTIL 5 DAYS AFTER DISAPPEARENCE OF RASH

MUMPS – 
Fever, swelling and tenderness of one or more glands below and in front of the ear(s). NO DAYCARE UNTIL 5 DAYS AFTER DISAPPEARENCE OF RASH. NEEDS A DOCTOR NOTE

RINGWORM OF SKIN/SCALP – 
Area of scaly patches of baldness may begin as small pimples. NO DAYCARE UNTIL UNDER TREATMENT BY A PHYSICIAN

SCARLET FEVER (SCARLATINA) – 
Sore throat, high fever and rash on body & extremities. EXCLUDED UNTIL RELEASED BY PHYSICIAN, NO LONGER CONTAGIOUS.

SCABIES – 
Tiny mite burrows under skin causing streaked area & intense itching eyes. NO DAYCARE SERVICES UNTIL DIAGNOSED & TREATED BY A DOCTOR

PINKEYE (CONJUNCTIVITIS)–
contagious condition, redness & watering of eyes, pus may be present. NO DAYCARE SERVICE UNTIL THE EYES IS CLEAR OR UNTIL RELEASED BY PHYSICIAN.

HOSPITALIZATION – 
after hospital stay. NO DAYCARE SERVICE WITHOUT DOCTOR’S NOTE

HEAD LICE – 
tiny insects lay eggs (nits) in hair, cause itching and white specks in hair. EXCLUDED UNTIL CHILDREN ARE NIT FREE.

COMMON SIGNS OR ILLNESS - 
Frequent cough, any rash or weeping sores, sore throat, ear ache; CHILDREN MUST BE FEVER FREE, VOMITING, DIARRHEA FREE FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE RETURNING TO DAYCARE.

Please remember if your child is sent home from daycare for 
Vomiting, Diarrea, Fever, 
Your child must be free from it for 24 hours before returning. 
This will prevent other children from becoming ill.
